Hi, I’m Jacqui — a lifelong dog lover and animal rescue advocate.

I currently share my home with Loki, a loyal German Shepherd, and Lola, a playful Golden Retriever. They help test the beds, toys, and gear that we review on this site — often very enthusiastically.

Loki is also a reactive dog, which means training, behaviour management, and choosing the right equipment are part of our everyday life. He also lives with severe allergies, so finding durable products and materials that are comfortable and safe for sensitive dogs is especially important in our home.

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to care for many dogs of different breeds, personalities, and needs. Before Loki and Lola, I rescued four amazing dogs while living in the USA — including a German Shepherd mix, a Samoyed mix, an Australian Shepherd mix, and a Rottweiler mix — and they even made the journey across the ocean with me when I moved back to the UK.

One of those dogs battled perianal fistulas, a challenging autoimmune condition, and with careful care and management he lived happily to the age of 10. Experiences like this taught me just how important comfort, durability, and the right products can be for dogs with special health needs.

Our home is also full of other rescued animals. Alongside Loki and Lola, we currently share life with six rescue cats. During my time in the USA I also rescued ten cats and fostered many more, helping them find safe and loving homes.

Living with so many different animals over the years has given me a practical understanding of what works — and what doesn’t — when it comes to choosing products for pets.
